Nim Li Punit (OR Lubaantun) and Belize Spice Farm: Nim Li Punit, a small and beautiful hilltop Maya site, is famous for its carved stones covered with hieroglyphs and images of gods and nobles. The second largest piece of carved jade found in Belize was discovered here in 2015. Your guide will paint a compelling picture of the Maya civilization prior to European contact. Learn about Maya history and culture past and present and explore the green grounds and views of this royal complex. STANN CREEK DISTRICT: Is the centre of Belize’s banana and shrimp industries, home of Marie Sharps Hot Sauce and the heart of Garifuna culture in Belize. These adventures are conveniently in the same district as Placencia Peninsula. Drive time is 45 minutes to 1 hour each way.

Bitters
Belizean Bitters & Rainforest Waterfall: We are excited to present a tour featuring Belize’s most famous alcoholic beverage, rum and anise based bitters concocted with jungle herbs. Krishna and Dez Molefi, featured on the Travel Channel’s show Booze Traveler, take us on a hands-on adventure from the jungle and farm to the bottle in your hands. Learn about the importance of bitters in Belize and in Garifuna culture. We start on the farm and in the jungle where Krishna shows us local plants used in bitters making. Then we head to the bar to sample some of Krishna’s bitters and learn about the medicinal qualities of each plant. Krishna then helps us to concoct our own personal bitters blend to carry home with us.  After our bitters tour, enjoy a delicious Maya style lunch in Maya Centre Village then head to a beautiful rainforest waterfall to swim, dive, rest and relax in the cool waters. The Spicy Banana:  Drive north past Dangriga to Marie Sharp’s world famous hot sauce factory, exported to over 22 countries world-wide. Here we learn all about habaneros, tour the factory floor, sample hot sauces, jams & jellies, & browse her gift shop. We then head back south to enjoy a traditional Garifuna lunch at Hopkins, a beachside community known for its vibrant culture. After lunch we cruise towards Placencia to Sagitun Banana Farm for their fascinating in depth farm tour & fried green bananas!

CAYO DISTRICT: Home of some of Belize’s most spectacular Maya sites, Cayo district is a beautiful landscape of ceiba-tree studded ranches, cave-dotted jungle hills and the high windswept mountain pine ridge where you can find the oldest rocks in Central America.

Xunantunich and Inland Blue Hole: Drive through the picturesque hills of the Hummingbird Highway to Cayo District to Explore the massive pyramids and beautiful facades of one of Belize’s largest Maya cities. After a delicious Belizean lunch we stop on the drive back for a refreshing swim at the inland Blue Hole, a rain forest ringed cenote.
