Placencia Restaurant Week:

For the last three years we celebrate the start of our winter tourism season on Placencia Peninsula with Belize’s first and so far only Restaurant Week!

Why you need to visit Placencia, Belize the first week of November!

The first week of November nonstop flights from Toronto to Belize begin their annual pilgrimage to paradise. For the last three years we celebrate the start of our winter tourism season on Placencia Peninsula with Belize’s first and so far only Restaurant Week! A thin 14 mile strip of land surrounded by the Caribbean Sea that supports 4 communities and less than 3,000 year round residents, the peninsula is home to a diverse and ever evolving food scene despite its small population. We boast an array of sit down restaurants, delicious street food, culinary walking tours and cooking classes, and Belizean Creole, Garifuna and Maya dishes which may be served out of an ice box-turned-tamales carrier from the side of the road or in the elegant dining room of a beach side resort.

Megan Rodden, Philadelphia native turned passionate advocate for the tourism sector, founded Placencia Restaurant Week in 2024. The concept is well known in larger towns and cities across the United States as a way for restaurants to boost their visibility and draw in new customers. Here in Belize it had never been done before. Under the auspices of the Placencia branch of the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA), the restaurant week was set for the first week of November as a way to celebrate the vibrant and ever expanding culinary scene on the 14 mile long Placencia Peninsula.

So this week don’t forget to join us as we celebrate Placencia’s 3rd Restaurant Week, with over 20 participating restaurants and a wide array of lunch and dinner specials priced at an unbeatable 26 Belize dollars for lunch and 46 BZD for dinner! Visit https://placenciarestaurantweek.com/ to see all participating restaurants and lunch and dinner menus.
