Chocolate, Garifuna Cooking & Waterfall

$165.00

Join us as we head inland to Maya Centre, a Mopan Maya village at the mouth of the famous Cockscomb Jaguar Reserve, for a tour of a cacao farm and hands on chocolate making with Che’il Chocolate company. After our morning with chocolate we visit Hopkins Village, a picturesque seaside Garifuna community an hour drive north of Placencia. Here Chef Gloria welcomes us to her home where we learn to make a delicious plate of hudut (savory coconut milk and fresh herb broth, pounded plantain and fresh fish) from scratch. Husk a coconut and turn it into milk for the base of this savory dish and participate in every step of creating this famous and delicious meal. After eating our fill in picturesque Hopkins, we cool off in a beautiful rain forest waterfall nestled in the foot hills of the Cockscomb Mountains.
