Visit an organic cacao farm and Che’il Chocolate’s tiny factory and learn about the traditional Maya way of grinding cacao beans to make chocolate.
Tour description
Visit tiny Che’il Chocolate Company, a Mopan Maya-owned business located in Maya Centre village. Here we explore an organic cacao farm and learn about how cacao trees are cultivated. During harvesting season we get to sample a ripe cacao fruit. Returning to Che’il’s headquarters we learn how to make our own chocolate using traditional Maya stone tools.
