Chocolate & Rum Tour

$175.00

Our day starts with a drive south from Placencia to Toledo District, the heart of Maya culture in southern Belize. We pass thatch roofed Maya communities, pine savanna and rain forest as we head to Belize’s hottest new distillery, Copalli Rum. This unique rum factory is located in the heart of 8,000 acres of rain forest making up the Conde Naste Destination Copal Tree Lodge property. Copalli Rum is the only certified organic rum in Belize. It has won multiple international awards including white rum of the year at the New York International Spirits Competition and the gold and double gold for agricole style rum at the International Rum Conference. Join us as we explore these special rums from Copal Tree’s organic sugar cane fields to its 4 story column still, through the aging process and into your glass!

After a morning in the cane fields and tasting rooms of Copalli Rum and Copal Tree Lodge, its time for lunch, Maya style, at Belize’s oldest chocolatier, Ixcacao Maya Belizean Chocolate. After a delicious all you can eat, farm to table buffet cooked by the Chocolate Queen, Abelina Cho, we learn about cacao trees, sample hot chocolate, cacao fruit and tons of chocolate samples and get to help shell cacao beans and grind our own chocolate on traditional Maya stone tools before heading home, full of chocolate, rum and delicious food!  Contact Us Now to book.
